摘要

This paper describes the development of a small, single-element transducer for use in a phased array. The array specification required one-wavelength radiators spaced at three-wavelength intervals. Since the array will be operated at a frequency of 2 MHz in water, the elements had to have an effective aperture of 0.030 inch and be spaced 0.090 inch center to center. Each transducer element also had to be replaceable on an individual basis and be electrically isolated and matched to the transmit/receive electronics. Fig. 1 shows the size scale of the 10- by-10 array, and details about transducer development are given in the following discussion.
